We live in a semi-rural part of St Albans close to local parks and safe, delightful doggy countryside and woodland. Our house is completely dog friendly and all animals are part of the family - yes we admit it, sofas are not out of bounds. We have a large, enclosed rear garden mainly laid to lawn (shown below) and plenty of doggy toys to keep everyone entertained. We hold a 5 star St Albans Dog Boarding licence, are fully DBS (criminal record checked) and I am animal first aid trained, including CPR. I also hold a diploma in Pet Sitting and Dog walking. I have £1m public liability insurance cover, key cover and my air conditioned car is insured for business use and is kitted out for the safe transport of dogs (front and rear guards, back-seat bridge and hammock).
One of my dog friendly sofas - great for 40 winks!

Day care dogs will have one long walk a day. Of course, they will also have lots of play time and down time should they want it too!
I only walk 6 client's dogs maximum at a time as I believe that any more means that each dog is not getting the individual attention they deserve. I am able to pick up walking dogs from home and will return them tired and ready to snooze at the end of their walk, always toweling them down and checking their water. Dogs will not be let off the lead without the express permission of their owner and only when I am confident that their recall is secure. I really do take your dog's safety and security seriously. |
My air conditioned SUV is fitted out with dog grills, back seat extender, doggy hammock, dog bungee belts etc and I am happy for your pet to travel in either the rear or specially kitted out back seats depending on where they feel comfortable. I have removable advertising on my car as I will never advertise whilst visiting your home - a clear sign for burglars that you are away! For this reason I have not gone down the bespoke, animal van route as I believe that a discrete service lends much more protection for your home!
I have movable dog barriers in the house in case of little disagreements and cages for those who prefer to sleep in a crate. I supply clean dog beds and bedding (although bedding from home ensures that doggies settle more quickly). Boarders will really be part of the family and will enjoy an early morning walk with my own dogs and a walk later in the afternoon, with plenty of play time in-between. Boarders will be fed separately in my utility room - bowls and water changed twice daily. I do also believe in some down time too during the day - tired dogs get crotchety or overexcited, just like their human friends! A selection of my doggy toys
